Men taking part in the public worship are requested to wear a coat and tie.

Scripture readers, the elders request that you use the King James, New King James, or 1901 American Standard version.

Greeters serve Sunday morning before class, before morning and evening worship, and before class on Wednesday night. Please be at the building at least 20 minutes before services.

If you have a conflict that will prevent you from carrying out your assignment, call Tom Jewell or the office as soon as possible.

Lord's Supper Assignments

  • Be brief - Know who does what
  • Remember to turn the microphone off
  • If you use scripture, make it appropriate
  • Refrain from a mini-sermon
  • Don't switch places in aisles
  • Remember, this is a remembrance of Christ's death (1 Corinthians 11:26)
  • Include a prayer of thanks

Song Leaders

  • Make sure to welcome everyone and remind them to fill out cards
  • Ask audience to silence or shut-off electronics
  • Speak slowly and clearly with eye contact
  • Advise at least 48 hours in advance if you're unable to lead
  • All regular song leaders should be prepared to fill in
  • Confirm the closing prayer assignment before starting the worship service

Scripture Readers

  • Please review your passage prior to service. Ask about any pronunciations you don't know.
  • Please use the KJV, ASV or NKJV
  • Announce the passage clearly - give people time to open to it.
  • Speak clearly into the microphone.

Prayer Leaders

  • Prepare your thoughts in advance - notes are OK!
  • Speak up! Don't use a conversational tone, some in the congregation have hearing impairments.
  • Pray on behalf of the congregation
  • Remember we are praying to the Father through the Son
